not with drum programs, i need to experiment more with the instrumnet progs, but i think the answer is no here too.
You could assign a LP filter to a pad simulted to the original pad as a work around for OS1 and OS2

Not completely related to your question, but at the moment the there isn't a way to change oneshot/note on for individual layers in OS2 im hoping jj puts this back in.

that's what's intended. in os1 and 2, filters are per pad, as are AMP settings, which in os2 includes note on/oneshot. the achieve the same thing it's recommended to use SIMULT. this way, you have control over both sounds' ADSR and filter. SIMULT is the best type of layer function the MPC has.

example - i couldn't live without being able to make a hi hat/open hi hat combo pad, one that if you just tapped it played a close hi hat (tch tch tch) but then if you struck it and held it, you get an open (tchhhhhhhhh). you can imagine how i do that - 1st pad containing a closed hi hat sample set to ONESHOT, simulted to a pad w/ an open hi hat sample set to NOTE ON.

the plus side here is that i'm able to tailor each pad's ADSR to fit perfectly. it's really nice. this is why i don't miss having ONESHOT/NOTE ON params per layer, in fact it kind of saves me some time.

Its funny to me that as much time as I have spent on my MPC how little of it's potential I am actually using. I gotta get me some rum and sit down this weekend and figure out SIMULT now. Thanks, guys.

you'll be able to drink a lot of rum and still operate as normal, cuz simult is one hell of an easy function. perhaps we'll someday see a shortcut for simulting in the future.

http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/%7Empc1000/s_pad_e57.htm

1 - create program, load sounds
2 - put sounds on both A01, A02
3 - enter GPE, go to the MUTE screen (f4)
4 - go to the MODE column where it says MUTE, spin data wheel over to SIMULT for pad A01
5 - set TARGET to A02.
6 - change filters independently of one another.

advice - though the above steps didn't use this, i suggest that when simulting say a kick drum that's on A13, put the sound you're simulting on the same pad of the following bank, ie B13, if unused. if you dont have a system and you need to find the simulted sound, you'll have to look for it. if you do it this way, you have a logical place where you'll put it and you wont have to search.

ah, that makes sense , thanks...
my os1 programs are sounding a lot better in 0.72 os2 after tweaking with the adsr now, but problems still persist when i load programs which originally have a mixture of one shots and note on samples per pad.
