hello

this feature of the 5000 would be great to have in the 2500.
is it possible to add the ability to record and stream directly to hdd ?

By trafo Thu Jan 24, 2008 7:14 am
thats true.
i am also worried about the 5000 losing some of the good points that the earlier models have, but this disk recording is one thing that would really make it worth to buy a 5000 and accept the crappy virtual analog synth.

The ION, Micron aren't crappy VA's and the Fusion is ok.
I think the problem with the VA will be the interface moreso than the sound.
As far as the recording the Akai DSP line wasn't the greatest, but that shouldn't matter since it's all coming from Alesis.
It still comes down to the implementation of the process.
These fake posers claiming to be BETA testers are a joke wait for the unit to show before getting excited.

At least in most forums when employees of a company post they identify themselves.

The BETA testers here are a joke and are fake? They are not any less credible than they usual suspects that frequent these forums giving silly advice on which MPC you should buy. They are certainly more helpful than the "expert" members who tell so-called newbies to the read the manual when not too long ago, they were asking the same questions.....

It would appear that your exile was too short since you are still back to your previous nonsense.
It's sad that other than the Internet's #1 Akai fanboy who would believe these undercover Akai reps are really beta testers.
Instead of people believing in this nonsense they better realize that the2500 has been discontinued.
Look how long it took them to admit the 4k was discontinued and even then it was a slip up on the Japanese site that let us know.
The $2499 MPC5000 has replaced the 2500 which they actually called the flagship when it first dropped in the NAMM video.
They will continue to sell them until they kill the inventory.
Anyone buying a new 2500 be sure to haggle on that price.

The guys that are here "beta testing" the MPC 5000s OS are more helpful than many of you. They have everyright to post this useful info for people interested in this new MPC. It's nothing more than what other forum members are doing....selling you all kinds of sh!t over the years (cheap MPCs, drum kits, pad fixes, 3rd party OS downloads, 3rd party operating systems on ROM, etc, etc). If you actually know about MPCs, you would know that new ones drop approx every 3 years and the old ones phased out. The MPC 2500 will have been in production for 3 years this Summer.

The problem is that they not simply admit that they work for Akai ?
These are NOT beta testers they are Akai reps trying to do undercover damage control.

As a long time MPC 2500 user, I am glad to see its further development which will include 32 tracks of audio recording in 1 1/2 mmonths. Whether it will be able to actually record directly to hard disk is anybody's guess. But I would be against it. Many users have been requesting this feature for several years only to see it surface in the MPC 5000.

Hopefully, this info will be useful to you.

Akai employees and beta testers have been great members of this forum for quite sometime without revealing who they are. If I worked for Akai, I wouldn't reveal this to anyone because I would get 1000s of PM with silly questions or complaints.

This guys with the MPC 5000s are simply showing off the features of the MPC 5000. Stop the hate or stop reading their threads. If you are not going to buy an MPC 5000, good.....then don't. But why spread all the hate mail in every thread? You are violating their civil rights :P
