Hi everyone!

Just a short question: Is it possible to hook the MPC to a computer (which would serve as the Master Clock), and use the MPC's two Midi Outs as Midi Thrus? I got a couple of hardware synths that do not feature Midi Thru, therefore I need all the Thrus I can get ...

Is this possible?

The answer is a partial yes but mostly no.

You haven't said how you intend to connect the MPC to the computer. If you are thinking USB, then the answer is a complete no. Only file transfer functions there.

If you have a single out midi interface to connect the computer to the midi in port, you can set the soft thru to send in omni mode, BUT you will run into this problem:

Even if the MPC soft thru worked differently, you would still be taking processor cycles away from the MPC just so it can sort and process all those messages to the out jack. The only real solution is the one I gave the guy in the above thread.

Thank you very much for your help!

Indeed, I own a USB Midi Interface, and my plan looked something like this:

Mac (Master) < MPC < Midi A out < Drum Computer (with no Midi Thru) / Midi B out< Synth (with no Midi Thru)

Which settings on the MPC would I have to change in order to at least try this out, regardeless of the latency issues I might run into?

Like I said, soft thru in omni mode to both A and B outputs.

BUT the problem isn't just latency or processor drag. Here's another thread on the issue that lays it out a bit more (actually, this is the thread I was looking for the first time but only just turned it up again) --
