i was told there was no charge but i guess i miss understood unless im doing somthing wrong.

Hey bro there is no charge, I dont see why it is not working for you?...You did put in your password for the version you bought right? if so there should be no problem upgrading to 4.9?.... check mode save and see if it ask for the password then put it in and see if that works for you...holla back with more info, im down to try and help you.
