I am having a major problem with pad sensitivity. I installed the pad upgrade, put JJOS 2 and even went into Pad config messed around with all the curves and pad on level and i am still having to mash the damn rubber off of the pad in order to get the full level. Any ideas or thoughts as to what i am missing?

i went through started from scratch basically (took the mpc apart again reconnected) made sure everything is tight and well connected and i am still having a hard time reaching full velocity.

Messed around with it some more and kinda figured out the problem saw the velo sens and press sens figures. Is their a secret to setting up all of the paramerters? Im changing to different configs but I am having trouble keeping a good velocity groove going.

yeah i posted a seperate thread about the new pads too, i havn't had any probs with my sensitivity, just strange mpc behaviour. Ima email around the place and ring mpcstuff where i gotem from and try to find some answers. Mine's goin to bank c every now and then when i hit main, and also when i hit pads 15 and 16. Heaps of other crap is happening too, like cursor buttons will stop working all of a sudden, then start working again when i have a button mash. Even tried installing prevoius os's and re-installing os2, but same ish. Maybe re-installing os2 a couple times will help you with your sensitivity problem? Someone help us out yo, mad frusty :x

i figured most of it out, its just with OS2 there are many different ways to customize the sensitivity of the pads that its hard to figure out what is a good medium, because youve got

Pressure sens 1-25
Veloicty Sens 1-25

then you have
Pad Level 1-16
and Curve A-D

but im also having some problems sim to ya cept its when i hit the mode button and i will hit mode and record but it went to my mixer instead?
dunno if its the pads or not, might try putting back my old pads and see if thats the problems

havent had time to read through all of the bugs of OS2 .8? but it could be with that and possibly will be fixed when OS2 1.0 comes out..

yeah hopefully, only thing i haven't tried yet is installing the original akai os or throwin the old pads back in like you said, which is just gonna p!ss me off coz this aint why i bought new pads. I sent an email to mpcstuff to see if micheal knows anything about it or anyone who can help. I am thinkin maybe it will work with the original akai os, coz jj did say it was all good with his os, but perhaps he means when the full os2 is ready, he might be sortin it out. I'm gonna try the akai os a bit later when i'm not so sore(just came out of surgery), i'll post up the results unless someone beats me to it. mine's doin even wierder sh!t than bfore now, 16level's lightin up when i press play or stop, then switchin to bank B or C, but not playin nothin, pads 14, 15 and 16 randomly change the banks now to B or C. wakia.

had no luck with the original akai os, so i've thrown my old pads back in and every thing is back to normal. Gave me a chance to move the thrashed pads into less used positions i geuss. I reckon it's a PCB board fault, we may have just been unlucky and got dud ones. Ima hit up Michael at mpc stuff and see if i can either get a free PCB board or at least get one for cheap or something. Just glad to be back bangin out tracks.

Just an update;
Got an email back from Michael from mpcstuff.
He seemed pretty sure it was an os problem and suggested i reload the original akai os, apparently the first batch of pads where making the screen fade in and out, don't know in what manner but that sounds like the case with mine and the data wheel(thats all it does, control the screen resolution!)
I've sent him another email back, explaining that i've tried about 6 different os(including the akai one) and there has been no change, and also mentioned that i am quite sure it's a PCB board fault.
Gonna just wait for a reply, if there's no obvious solution after that i'll just have to ask for a new PCB board and see what he says.
I also mentioned that i knew of someone else who was having some difficulties.

word thanks for the update, i havent been able to use the mpc much over the weekend as ive been customizing my buttons, but if it continues i will def drop him a line, i will probably reload my old os before and give it a try.

Good news,
got a reply from Michael, he's gonna send me a new PCB board.
He mentioned it was very strange, i reckon we were just unlucky.
So yeah, if you haven't found an obvious source to your problem yet, drop him a line, i can't see how it could be anything else except a PCB board fault.
Good to see they take care of their customers.
