-------------------------------------------------------
Bug Fixes & Addition: OS2 Ver0.90 22-FEB-2008
-------------------------------------------------------
1. [PROGRAM(INST)]

[Key Group ]
[Note numbers 0-34 and 99-127]
Note-off is not carried out to recording.

2. [SAMPLE LIST]

If a window is opened and closed, the sample of a program will change.

3. [MAIN]

A display, and movement and behavior of cursor are strange in a sample list during a sequence play.

4. [Global Program Edit]

It does not change, even if it changes a parameter after copying a program.

5. [GRID MIDI]

DELETE is not right.

<<Addition>>

1. [MODE]+PAD11

LINE PATTERN

2. [GRID DRUM]

Loop Edit Mode

Notes: "Main Screen" and "Grid Edit" (DRUM) of the on-line manual are changed a little. (Specification was changed)

Word! But besides that, I also like the improved Grid Edit. It now indicates the Velocity Level of an Event by the height of the square and also, if the Event was shifted during recording (the Event sits a lil left or right from the center). Open the jpeg below and magnify it, and you'll see. Also you can now view the name of the selected Program and the samples assigned to the pads and easily change them. DOPE!

wow.

this function has gone through a LOT of revisions.
the end result looks pretty boss though.

has anyone got any personal reports yet

whohaa. great stuff.

this pattern style is awesome.
just fooling around with some percussion samples over a loop.

it will take its time till i get really fluid with it, but i can say its
very intuitive once you catch the workflow.

i have the feeling this is a great tool to improve my hihat patterns.
veeery good. lets see if i can find some bugs.

also have to try if simult sequence recognizes inst progs now.
it did not work with 0.84.

btw: great keys you compiled nym. they´re very musical.
very good for catching melody ideas. if i find the time, i will
contribute some progs of my mfb synth 2.

more later...

yo i'll hook you up with a 28 key "multisampler" project folder i saved
just a chromatic inst pgm going up the scale and a blank pgm where all you have to do is drop your notes in and reassign the OG note

very easy

i foresee this new style of sequencing will prompt new grooves, notes being in places i wouldn't have thought of otherwise.

very exciting.

I don't know if it's a bug or not, but in the SAMPLE LIST (Highlight the Program Field, press WINDOW twice), you cannot reach the TUNE column with the cursor. I don't know if it's supposed to be just a display of the current value or if it should be editable, so therefore I can't tell if t's a bug or not...

wow. you can even use pattern for external synth programming!
just select a drumtrack, hook it up w/ the midi channel and there you go.
insert pattern as you like on the desired notes.

reminds me a little of the machinedrum programming...

yeah. i am sure this will create some ill stuff.

a little clarification required please...

could i use a synth in ableton, and program an arpegiated sequence in the mpc with all connected via midi? if so, im gonna hav some fun tonight.

yep. exactly.
gives the programming with mpc a complete new feel.
also try drumsounds with different tunings and velo...
with just one sound you can create grooves instantly.

i am blown away!

i am blown away!

same here.
i woke up this morning to the sound of snow plows, looked out my window to see a ton of snow (knowing i don't have to be anywhere today), then proceeded to install .90.
this pattern edit is incredible!!!
i really like what i can do with my drums, and the creation of synth patterns with this feature.
i'm gonna spend all day and night (and probably all weekend) with this version of os2.
now i really need to purchase a password!!!
os2 seems more than capable of working with at this point.

on second thought, i'm waiting until these stack dumps stop occuring before buying that password.

JJ OS2 .90

pattern edit mode (MODE + PAD11)

1. scroll forward through the pattern while it's playing to edit the 2nd bar.
2. adjust the shift parameter.
BUG: tune also adjusts when shift is adjusted.

3. when scolling more to the right, the display lost some of it's contents and a CPU Address error occured.
