yesterday i was working on a recent song's bassline using the acoustic soft bass pgm i made and shared. it's a good program and i use it to a lot of different effects.

the multisamples have a large hitting transient - not like a slap bass but there's a definite pluck/hit. this is great, but of course, when you're programming realism, you won't ALWAYS want that hard hit, especially for softer notes or more brushed-in type stuff.

so i set the attack to a default of 4 (samples weren't trimmed at crosspoints, and it sounded better in context)

then i set qlink1 to sample start. (hopefully in the future i will be able to assign a midi cc to sample start!). temporarily ignoring this qlink, i then played my melody, listened to it carefully, and decided which notes would benefit from a less aggressive hit.

on those, i went to them in MGE, got overtop of them, and overdubbed the same note w/ the same duration overtop. however, i'd bumped up the sample start qlink just a tiny bit, cutting off that hitting transient.

the result was very very smooth, i highly suggest it.
when we get midi ccs->qlink, i will be using my midisense unit with the MPC. the midisense unit has 6 controls (knobs, fader etc)

1 (slider) will = qreal filter
2 (rotary) will = qreal resonance
3 (slider) will = qreal tune
4 (slider) will = qnote on attack
5 (rotary) will = qnote on sample start
6 (infrared) will = ???????? whatever i set it to
