feature request...now that would be handy......

i am dreaming of a very handy feature which would increase my workflow ten times...

often i programm a beat on the fly in one track..all elements of the kit are in one track....now it would be cool to split this track to several tracks by the push of a button, i.e. converting a track containing all sounds of a kit to several tracks each containing one sound of the original kit...
something like the "explode drum track to midi track by channel" feature in cubase....
this would save me sooooo much time....no more copy and erase certain notes...

that´s my wish for easter this year....

along the same lines, but when I make beats, I have schit all over the place and I never name my tracks either. I may have a kick drum on 3 or 4 different tracks. I'm very unorganized. When it's time to record, I have to listen to the whole beat just to see what on each track. Often times, I have to listen to the entire length of the beat in solo just to hear a single sample..all alone, at like the very last bar!
If there was a way to see what samples are on each track then all I would have to do is name the samples that are being used and route each track accordingly.

At least i started to give the tracks short descriptions like "drm" for drums or "bs" for Bass..

So are you putting the lenght of the loop on how long the whole beat is and play with each track on the fly, or are you sequencing single parts like Sequence 1=Main/Verse and Sequence 2 Chorus and so on..

I do it like that and basically arrange the song, once recorded in cubase, but that doesnt give me the control i`d like to have, when i want to improvise later..
I read about the Song Mode, but dont know how to handle it, looks strange to me..

I just make one sequence and go from there. I usually have an 8/16 sometimes more than a 20 bar loop going. When I do a full recording of a song (not very often) I'll do all my changes in the recorder.. add a few things here and there so it doesn't sound redundant after a while. I used to use song mode YEARS ago, but now I'm not focused enough to go through all that. I'm lazy. What can I say! haha

I think it would be great to do all the Sequencing on the MPC, so that in the End when u figure that a drum break here or there would be cool, you still have everything in Place and can just play it in.
When recording into a DAW and changing afterwards, you have to either cut and paste, or go back to the MPC to do the Break or whatever, then record into the DAW again and go from there, which is kinda annoying, especially for 2 lacy F***s like us, right ?
Cause i also dont like to name tracks...

But another Feature Request to JJ would be, that he makes it possible to be able to playback the Song while prelistening to Samples in the Load Menu.
THAT would increase my Workflow Bigtime !

i always do all my drum programming in the mpc and then i sync gthe mpc to the cpu...i sent programm change to the mpc to change sequences...that way i always have total control about the mpc, i can add and change patterns till the end and still don´t have to hassle around with song mode...
it works like a charm....
