they will load fine but they won't sound the same. any work done with filters will especially sound weird, filters are completely different in OS2. So just stick to OS1 with your old projects. You can switch back and forth by booting while holding the tap tempo button.

There is some work involved!
The main differnce for me is the difference between AD in os1 and the ADSR in os2, you have to tweak your progams somewhat to get them to sound right, epescially if your using looped samples. Ive been saving the program os2 versions in new folders ,or with a different name so i can still mess with them in OS1 without having to tweak everything back again.

yeah, there are small changes that you will have to make but it uses the same project file type so everything loads up fine, but if you load up and os1 project that has a filter with 100 resonance into os2 you are going to get some weird sounds. Because filters act like they do on a synthesizer, and when you turn resonance to 100 you get feedback.

What I would do is just put all your old OS1 work in an OS1 folder and your OS2 work in an OS2 folder

that way you can just load the according OS

I just paid for my OS2 two days ago -- no regrets so far, and I plan on pretty much abandoning OS1 altogether now
