My mixer keeps resetting

Whatsup everyone. I'm new to the MPC game...I've got a 1000 with JJ v1, an 80gig seadisk HD and full ram.

I've been making tracks all week on this baby, but I've noticed a problem.

I'll make a beat and save "entire memory" before turning it off. I'll turn it back on to notice that the mixer settings have reset. wtf. All of the levels are back to full and the pan setting is dead center. This has happened a couple of times.

another problem I just noticed a minute ago. In addition to resetting my mixer settings, this last time I turned it on, it also did not assign the samples to the proper program. The samples are in the memory, but I have to go through and manually assign each sample to its original pad. (obviously a real pain for chops and drum kits that have beats already programed.)

what am I doing wrong? I thought that "save entire memory" would save things like the program and mixer settings. will I have to fool with them everytime I turn the machine on?

have you loaded up the project that you are referring to. because it should save all of the mixer settings when you save the project. do you have any autoload functions set up or any memorized set up stuff set up.

yes. I'll make some mixer changes to "project x", then save it using "save entire memory". when I load the project again, sometimes the mixer changes in "x" are moved back to the default settings.

I have autoload turned off.

I know it should save it...but for some reason its not.

When you load the project, do you actually open the .prj file or do you just highlight the folder where the files are in and load that?

yeah

if you're doing it from the folder, make sure you set 'replace same files' to YES - maybe that will help

That must have been the problem...I didn't always select "replace same files"
