or maybe not...
I have this idea that I was wondering how possible it is , I actually havent tried to come up with a way to do it myself before asking the question but I'm putting it out there anyway
It came about from me reading up on GATING
now I was wondering ... how useful would it be if the JJOS had included a feature where u could set a Pad to lower the velocity of an entirely seperate pad for EXAMPLE...
u have a drum track banging away and a bassline running underneath it but when the kick hits at the same time as the bass the mix gets muddy and distorts losing the sound of the bassline and the kickdrum and ending up with a fart coming outta ur speakers
wouldnt it be nice to have the bassline run and then when the kick hits it cuts the volume of the bassline from 100% volume to 90% or 80% volume
, its a technique I read about a little while ago , which I think is only acheivable at the mixing stage ... just a thort , I thought it'd be good to have it be effective ONLY while the kickdrum pad is ACTIVE and when its not the bassline returns to normal volume... this could extend on further to different filtering possibilities and effect possibilities all WITHIN the box
if this is already achievable in the MPC2500 sumhow than somebody let me know how ( without manually editing velovities in step edit )
or if sumone thinks this is a good idea whats the best way to pitch it to the JJ team?
