mixdown songs to harddrive then transfer to pc via usb Means you don't have to sync and record in real-time to pc daws

the 5000 has it.

can the jj guru ask jj if he will try to put it in? of is it possible?
this is the only feature i will ever need.

an if it dos come to the 2500 it would make me on happy man

I actually thought this is what jj was going to save for the 2500 update, I too would love this! It would be great to be able to bounce tracks with quickness n just load them in your daw as mix down wav's from one bounce... omg 8)

os2 has a 'record' option in song mode which dumps your song to wav..

but isnt that basically just resampling it? you still have to sit through the whole song and wait for to finish...rendering the song would just turn the sequence into a wav

This isn't what we're suggesting,we're suggesting a multi-bounce, this would essentially bounce all used sounds into wav files. In other words if you used a .pgm and used 8 different sounds it would bounce the used sounds or your sequence down in separate or multi- wav's.. this way you would have each instrument track by track ready for a real mixdown in your DAW..
eg: hat 1 - wav hat 1
kick 2 - wav kick 2
These could be stored in the songs folder then thru the usb or memory card load them them directly to your pro-tools,cubase etc..

This would be an amazing update! 8)

or say i have song with 5 tracks it doesn't have to bounce each 5 tracks separately. as am assuming it would take a lot of programing to do that.
i would love that still.

but i would settle for bouncing the stereo output channel to one wav file.
as i could just solo each track and do 5 different bounce still faster than sync and record to pc.

also should be able to bounce the input thru. as this is handy for bouncing external modules. just plug the sound modules output to the mpc input and bounce. if i get this i will never upgrade to the 5000

yep please speak to jj about it . regards

Agreed a multi-track render would be great.. even if it just automated and had to run thru the pattern X times..

The song mode record is still useful though - so just put in your seq (in song mode), solo track 1 - go to song mode record - render - back to seq - solo track 2 - song mode - render - and so on.. its actually quite quick once you get the button presses down.. ;)

The only vague pain is that the Record name doesnt auto-increment..

If this is the same thing as recording the stereo file, then it seems kinda pointless to me. You can easily resample your entire beat and do the same thing right now. Go into record mode, change the input mode to Main out, and play the beat. Voila! Wav file. But if you were talking about a bounce feature where you could bounce the midi data (example put all your kicks onto a single track withing the MPC's sequencer) then I'd be a lot more excited. This feature would save A LOT of time during the recording phase and put an end to listening to the entire beat just to record a single sound. Also, if the "mixdown" screen could display the Pads used on each track, again, it would speed things up a whole lot. Soloing tracks to find specific sounds, assigning to direct outs, unnecessary recording etc, everything would be a whole lot faster.

i think it would be better if we could a some sort of software that can read the prj files from JJOS
make the beat and sequence it in the MPC, and then transfer the project folder into the computer and do the channel by channel offline bounce within the PC. using that software
would be a lot faster than tracking the beat out channel by channel

damn, i gotta learn some programming

yes, yes yes. whoever tackles this project would make a big splash
the more software integration of prj, all, ipt, pat, and pgm files, the better
esp for instpgm building

can we please focus on the multi bounce feature in this thread.

this programmer has created something similar. you could contact him and find out if he could write a program for jj sequence files.
