OS1 GPE POLY/MONO

back from making a beat on os 4.99.

Let's say i have sliced a guitar and made a new program, i also sliced a flute that i manually assigned on another pad bank.

I want samples to play at the same time but i don't want somes samples to overlap.

To be precise, the program is set as POLY on top of GPE ; some samples on a pad bank are set to MONO but it doesn't sound just like the whole program was set as MONO. I find that they overlap a bit.

I know an easy workaround is to create each own program for each samples but I am missing something again with the GPE polyphony management?

if you want a sample to keep a sample from overlapping itself, set that particular pad's voice setting to 'mono'

if you want all pads to mute cutoff each other from overlapping, set the entire program setting to mono

if you only want certain pads to cutoff eachother, keep the program as POLY, but put the pads in the same mute group

when keeping pad voice's setting to mono in a poly program, it still overlaps a bit. I'll make a try with mute groups. thanks for your answer.

i'd say just use 2 different program's.. i always use a different program for every instrument that i use.. and actually it's not a workaround, i think this way is much better.. because you don't have to do as much as making mute groups etc, takes you much longer, and another plus is that it's easier to select another program so that you can see what you are using instead of switching banks..

yeah i think that is what i am finally going to do. I like when samples are on the same program because when sample lenght is different and some pads are set to MONO it doesn't overlap when changing sequences. for me it's faster than post-adjustment sometimes. Anyway thanks for sharing your thoughts.

And don't forget about MUTE groups!
