Loading samples: Automatic postions?

I have a 4000 and a 2500. When I load sounds via jog shuttle on the 4k, the mpc remembers the last sample I assigned and when I hit the next pad and turn the jog wheel to the right, it starts from the next sample in the list. On the 2500, everytime I load a sample to a pad I have to scroll through all of them when assigning the next sound to a pad. Is there a way around this? Has this feature been implemented in the JJ OS 1 and I somehow need to turn it on? Please let me know, Creating programs like this is extremely time consuming

FOR REELZ! I'll back you on this one.That would be a nice feature but for the time being i just cre8 programs on "MPC pad 187" (cpu prgm),then transfer to mpc.
Molecule you should post in "os 2 features"(add your own suggestions)

ok I'll post it in the "wanted" features... I'm surprised it hasn't been implemented...seems like a no brainer. If it can be done let me know how. I use the MPC pad 187 and it's killer but sometimes i need to do things the old fashion way. It get's to be a hassle to wait for my MPC drive to load so I can go back and forth between the computer and the MPC drive. A program like aksys for the 2500 would be a welcome one... It works so that you are always connected to the mpc's drive without having to Unmount! I would definitely pay for it. It saves a load of time and precious ideas can be lost or realized during that down time. Also I've crashed my computer numerous times because I hit main button instead of unmount in protools
Also It would be cool if you could chop up a sample and add it automatically to an existing program

this was requested about a year ago, someone made a convincing appeal for it.
the message back from jj was that it may "cause a claim" which basically means that some folks who are so used to the old way might bug out a little bit and get confused and not like it.

a pity, i totally agree with this idea. it would definitely make loading samples from a big folder a smoother experience. it's probably due to this reason that THAT type of sample loading is something i don't do--instead i spend hours every now and then ordering samples into subfolders.

The only thing Akai/JJ progammers need to do is to actually sit down and use the Akai MPC 2000/2000XL as well as the MPC 3000. Loading samples is just one feature that is better implemented in the older MPCs.

similarly i'd like the "velocity-scrolling" data wheel, but at the same time i'd rather have sample loop crossfade someday. who knows...

Well it doesn't make sense still because when loading samples on the 4000, if you spin the jog wheel to the left, it defaults the sample at the begining of the folder, and if you spin it to the right it continues with the next sample in the list. Seems easy enough to implement and the 4k has done this since 2002. I have a feeling JJ was never a MPC 4000 user. If he was he would probably want to add a few of the simple features that make it the "Cadillac" I'm not knocking JJ, I think he's a genius and I will continue to support his OS by purchasing OS2 once they work the bugs out. The bottom line is that having 4k users in the mix for develping the JJ OS, is beneficial to all MPC heads. The 2500 is my new baby... I want it to live long and be as simple to use as possible
