Man...
That sampling off the main outs is weak !!!
Damn...
I use the extra 1, 2, 3, & 4 outputs.
You can also use the main outs as your 5 & 6.
You just have to disable the built-in FX, which is an easy chick to leave if you have a cpu.

It does kill your resample value, I grant you that.
At least we have a polyphony counter right?

Oh wait... OS2 gave me a mixer screen that can quick switch the outs of a track!!
Now I can resample, since 32 voice is a little low for my taste.
Switching each pad output of a program is not doable.
Even more so when you have that same program spread across many tracks.
I was apauled the Akai OS left this out!!
It totally defeated the fact they gave you multi-outs w/o having to by a exp. card.
It may be a basic function in JJOS2, but it is by FAR my favorite.

What has it done for you?

P.S. Can we get a bump & get some more program trading here?
Everybody must have that 1 sound that they can't share.
Is it is a snare that will show up more than Lil' Jon's "Yeah".
Nym hook those instrument programs.
I use that last dose.

complicated use of the outs/resampling there, or maybe i just wasn't following it too good
definitely, the 32 voice limit is something i am constantly bouncing into, but there's always a way to cut back without losing any sounds.

i like how much more quickly i can build extremely complicated drum programs with lots of simults and independently treated sounds with microlooping and ADSR.

i like how i can use INST pgms the same as a chromatic midi pgm, and use the samples on the INST pgm as a layer over which i can drop silkier Reason sounds. i like keeping both together, but i REALLY like how this means that when i "go portable" i still can edit the tune of what i was composing partially in Reason.

i fking love Aftertouch and Channel Pressure. i like using VST plugins to route Channel Pressure signals to an external machine/software's Mod Wheel, or Filter Cutoff, or Master volume.i'm especially psyched about how well integrated graphical representations of midi ccs are implemented -- much less pleased with how QREAL is functioning these days (would hope to see QREAL basically absorbed by MIDI CC)

This is what id like to get on top of polyphony issues: a the stereo/mono equivalent of NDC.
Imagine L,R and ST options per pad within GPE. If your messin with stereo samples you'd be able to switch to "whole" turn everthing to play just the left or right. If most of your samples are stereo(except maybe you kick drums and bass which should be mono)you can save your polyphony and carying on composing. When it comes to tracking out you can switch your programs back to stereo: any pgms that don't play back right because of polyphony can be turned off and recorded to your DAW in another pass.
L,R or stereo from GPE would be good creatively too, sometimes a sample can sound good from both channels seperately(for instance sometimes I is use it on snares ive sampled from records, where the tone is different on either side: three snare sounds become six subtley different snare sounds). Yeah we could do this from trim but imagine doing it for each slice of a heavily chopped sample pgm, you could have a "left" and "right" program really easily and explore the creative potential of the subtley different tones. Other samplers work like this and it is useful..anyway sorry for hijacking the thread.. just brainstorming..

As for os2
Im loving adsr, grid loop edit -especially for realtime shift timing, and track locate (as a new improved pad pattern subsitute).

JJ would have plenty of room to put this into PROGRAM EDIT if he got rid of that 'general midi sound' column that nobody uses (3rd column under the AMP tab).
