Hey guys,I'm a fairly new mpc1000 user with jj os2.I use it with a used Motif rack. Lately I've been having 1 problem after another interfering with my creativity. I'll try 2 make this brief but detailed.Hope this is the appropriate page 4 my post.
Let's say I create a midi track using a1 and an instrument from an available track on the Motif's 16 channels..If I try 2 create another track using a2 and another instrument and if I press record and play start at the same time it resets all my Motif's instruments back 2 the default voice setting .The thing is,it hasn't always done this. But,I recently, accidentally,( idiotically ) retored my Motif to the factory default . This in turn made all midi tracks sequenced in my MPC play in a lower key (soprano to alto equivalence).I purchased the rack used from a fellow producer who says he didn't customize any setting in the rack.Once again sorry if I posted on the wrong page and if I wasn't supposed to post about other equipment either. But, I know there's a chance this could be my problem .My frustration level is thru the roof. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!

if it changes when you press play start on the mpc it could be that your sending a program change message from the mpc.
There is a bit to the right of the main screen where it says "PC:" ..If theres a number there thats your problem. e.g if a track is set to midi out 1A and the program change is set to PC:1 the mpc will send a program change on midi channel one and the motif will reset to whatever it calls "program one".

Thanks bro! That helped. Any clue on how why all my tracks show up with pc 1 selected? And is there a way 2 deselect them all at once?
