in the OS2 PROGRAM EDIT screen -> under the AMP tab ->
the 3rd column over is "GM2 SOUND", which is just a listing of what general midi instrument corresponds to whichever midi note is assigned to that pad.
i'm willing to bet that NO ONE uses this (tho speak up if you do!) and it's currently taking up a ton of screen space in PROGRAM EDIT. if it was removed it looks like there is enough space for 2 new medium sized columns or even 4 smaller ones! i'd like to use this thread for suggestions on what new useful things could go in that freed up space.
for example: one thing that has been mentioned previously by someone else is an option to play only the left or right channels of a stereo sample (to save voices when things get tight). this could go in a narrow column with L, R, & S options to select.
what i personally would like to see here is a column where you could set a samples LOOP mode. this could be a small column with ON, OFF, & ALT options (for alternate loop). currently, this is a global setting accessed thru the TRIM screen, which is kind of a pain in the a$$ to work with especially when you want to change a bunch of samples at once. i would like to see a samples loop parameters under the control of the program. you could switch loop settings for all your samples instantly while the sequencer is running just by switching to a new program: convienient to work with & also can be exploited for creative effects.
any other ideas?
