its been two days in a row know i havent been able to complete a beat because of my mpc malfunctioning. first day i was half way through a beat and then this message suddenly pops up on the screen sayin mpc memory problem goes through a memory test, btw i just installed 256 ram in it.. (jjos free version)
and it fails in the second part of the test.

then the next day it was find so i tried making another beat only that an hour later tis popped up

can some one tell me what hell is going oN? can i fix this buy upgrading os? or how can I? this is frustating kus i think i made one of my two best beats which i couldnt even finish any comment on that matter will be apreciated

So the errors start to occure after you've installed the new memory? In this case I'd say that the memory you chose might be incompatible with the MPC 1k. To check if this is the case, I would remove the ram for now and then install the latest JJ OS version just to make sure you have a consistent os installed. If you got an HD too - what I don't know, remove that too, just to minimize possible sources of failures. Then test how the mpc works without additional ram and/or HD. If it works fine, put the additional RAM back in and see what happens... If you get error codes again, you know that the ram is propably the reason. If you don't get crash dumps, the reason might have been the HD (if you have one, of course) :)

You can also reset the MPC to default, just to minimize possible failures even more. Hold Erase before you turn on the MPC...

If you did the reset, try adjusting your contrast (stop + wheel).

Wait hold have i been gone from the forums that long. He said that he installed 256mb......I thought it only supports 128mb......Isnt the JJ Os enuff modding Geesh :wink:

its takes a 256mb chip, but only address half of it, damm hardware limitations.

was gonna say, didnt some1 else have the same problem, but its the same dude. check all your internal connections twice. you might have knocked the lcd connector.
