MPC 1000 JJ OS Sync (Master) to Pro Tools (Slave)

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has successfully synced Pro Tools (slave) to the MPC 1000 JJ OS (Slave) with the MPC transport looping. Getting the transports to sync is no problem but I have not been able to get the pro tools transport to loop along with the 1000. I have set the Pro Tools transport to accept MTC, other than that no setting have been changed. If anyone would care to share a means of having the pro tools transport follow the loop of the mpc 1000 it would be very much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

yea same here..

looping while synced can be difficult. for example, logic/mpc, when logic runs, mpc will follow good time, but as soon as logic commences a cycle(looping), the mpc drifts.

i suspect that the same will occur with protools.

the better way might be to slave protools to the mpc. but really any cycle's going to throw tiny sync errors into the clocks, and they will drift.

using mtc with protools as the master, mpc as slave might be better, - i really only use beat clock, but midi time code is designed to keep track of the song position whenever the master device is moved from song part to part. and thyerefore, the drift would be kept at minimum.

I don't think protools works as a midi slave. It has to be the master.

check out this link. this is how you do it. ive tried programming this way and am not a fan of it. ur mpc can master whatever device u want. read the "for triggering protools" sections for whatever mpc u have. once u have it set correctly, protools will have a note on the bottom of ur page that says "waiting for signal" or something like that. good luck...
