hola everybody,
i have a sync problem always with mpc1000 and logic using MTC. even when BPM,Frame Rate, and Start Time are set, it wont chase n lock from anywhere but 1.1.1.1 , ie, at the beginning of the track only.

is there anywhere to make it sync like midi clock, ie, from wherever you locate and play from...

arrrggg...

mmmmm..... frustrating.

I don't know logic but in Cubase there's an option for " always send start/stop messages "

could be a box somewhere that just needs to be ticked...

hope this helps....

when i slave the mpc1000 to ableton its runs like shit. after about 10 mins its totally out of sync, not so pefect for 60minute live set, i am yet to find a tight way of syncing the 2 units, works fine at first, but can never keep it locked tight, as the sync timing drifts over time.

yeah for mtc to work with logic pro 8 .. you just set the start time to 0:0:0:0 ,and it works...1:0:0:0 doesnt work ...go figure..

1:0:0:0 is a one hour offset. Maybe you just have to wait for it. ;)

Same goes for OP.

Just to be more clear:

MTC/SMPTE timecode displays like this:

hours:minutes:seconds:frames

So 1:1:1:1 will translate to one hour, one minute, one second and one frame offset start.

It probably works, it's just that you have to wait/fast forward to that time to find out.

Set it to 0:0:0:0 and always leave an emty bar on the mpc to allow for the sync to establish itself, it won't start bang on - that's just the nature of it. Also check your frame rate is the same on both slave and master.

Not sure if I hit the hammer on the nail there...

yeah its funny when i set the start time ( 1.1.1.1 being bar one, beat one, etc) to 1h in logic, and 1h in mpc, it only syncs from start point and wont chase..,but when i set the start times at 0h, no problem..

Do you set both Logic and MPC to an hour offset time? Are you talking MIDI time code offset time? I'm not with you...
