Akai OS => JJOS 1.0 => JJOS 2.0

I just want to make sure I got this right

step 1. download OS1 and purchase a password for $39 to unlock the OS

step 2. download OS2 and purchase a password for $49 to unlock the OS

What if I don't want OS1 and just want OS2 ??

I'm not trying to hate on this at all, I was more than happy with JJOS on the 1000, I eventually sold my 1000, and used computer for about a year, recently copped a 2500 last week, and it was immediately obvious how inferior the akai OS is vs JJ os...

you have to buy OS1 before buying OS2.

the reason why is because OS1 acts as a boot system for OS2 since OS2 is installed into a different part of the memory to make use of some extra space and allow for more functions a.k.a. a more powerful OS.

so does that mean if for whatever reason you can dual boot between the 2?

Yeah, thats why you pay for both. You have the option of either OS, depending on what you need to get certain projects done.
Some people have projects started on OS1 which are incompatible with OS2. So it would make sense to complete those projects with OS1.

I've been messing around with the free os all night and it alone kills the akai os... chopping is so much better.

I'm pretty sure its almost the same thing as the MPC 1000 JJOS I was using last year, if not the same extremely similar

Gotta question about the screen on the OS1...how the heck do you change the tint on the screen? I can't find anything on it...

Q: How can I change the contrast after I've installed the new OS?
A: Hold [STOP] and turn the DATA wheel to adjust the contrast. After you've set the contrast press [MAIN] so the setting will get stored.
