question about voice overlap

I was just wondering if there is a way to make it so any pad you hit stops the previous one. For example if you put a pad on mono voice overlap it every time you press it, you make it restart. For example again, i press pad 1 a couple times, triggering the beginning of the sample on it, then press pad 2, i want pad 1 to stop playing.
help?
i really really apologize if this is something easy i should know, i really don't even know what to look for to find out the answer.

mute group, or put the whole program on mono

i figured i would need to learn about mute groups eventually....
by put the whole program on mono, do you mean, change every pad to mono? because i don't think there is a way to do the whole program, at least not that i have seen.

I think he means monoing everything in the program one by one.

yeah, highlight the option to go between MONO and POLY, keep spinning the wheel non-stop and hit all of the pads really fast. Keep doing it and change banks if needed.
