novation and mpc 500

think I should ask a different question, is anybody using a novation x station with an mpc 500?

Ah just seen your other post. You need to go onto global menu by pressing global and change the local control setting, you may also need to make sure the midi out is set to on or a no. 1-16

The just link the x station to mpc with midi leads and then u should be in buisness, you can then sequence the xstation from mpc by playing in parts on the keys and rec it along to the click. The pads will also play individual notes.

You might also need to connect the outputs of the mpc 500 and the novation to a mixer to hear the "click" metronome from the mpc AND the audio signal from the novation.

Also, on the mpc, set each track that you want to control via MIDI to "MIDI" and also assign the correct channel (1-16).

You'll need two MIDI cables:

MPC MIDI OUT ==> Novation MIDI IN
Novation MIDI OUT ==> MPC MIDI IN
