Can't tell if this 2 GIG SanDisk CF card is Type I or II...

that's the 2 GIG card I'm about to order... just wanted to check with u guys and make sure it would work. I know the MPC500 works with CF cards up to 2 GIG and they need to be either Type I or Type II... thing is, I can't tell if this is Type I or II. I know it says '...Ultra II...' but that isn't it's type is it...?

These are the only other available CF cards NewEgg has that would fall in the category we need 'em to be for our MPCs...

Who gives a fuhk. The 500 works with either. Its a CF card right? Thats what the 500 wants, so give it to him!! Why make the 500's life a hell with your bullshuck worries?

Only difference is speed I guess. I have an old ass 8mb CF card and it works in the MPC.

guess I'm not used to this board yet... o_O but ok... thanks, I suppose that CF card should work. I already ordered it yesterday along with some RAM cause this 8mb RAM is killing me (or whatever it is, when u get the MPC out the box)

Oh, and I though MPCs only work with CF cards up to 2 gigs... guess you got a different MPC to work with that 8 gig card?

The 2GB myth ended when Akai switched the filesystem to FAT32. Buy whatever you want.

Does this mean that I you can use cards larger than 2GB in the 500?

I seem to remember someone saying that you COULD use larger cards, BUTt the most the MPC would read was 2GB (so you could put an 8GB card in there, but it would only read 2GB and not read 6GB... that seems weird but I'm new to all this).

Can anyone confirm this for me?

I have a 4gb card in mine.

The 2GB limit from before was a filesystem limitation from before firmware supporting FAT32 appeared.
