Considering a MPC 500

HI,
I'm a noise/industrial/power-electronics musician on a budget who's sick and tired of the software.
I'm now considering a budget set-up with a MPC 500, and I have a few questions:

- If I have a desktop synth (or any sound generator) connected via midi, can I create a midi sequence and record the audio output of the synth directly in the MPC?

- In the case above, can I record the audio input as an audio track (like in a DAW) or as a single shot/loop?
- Can the MPC record audio tracks?
- How many insert effects (if any) can I chain?
- How is the quality of the Reverb?
- What effects are available?
- In a live situation, can I use the MPC to apply effects on vocals in real time?

Also, if any of you is into noise/ambient/power electronics, what do you think of this hypotetical setup for the musician on a budget (and with little space)?
- Akai MPC 500
- MFB II synth or DSI Evolver
- Mixer
- Microphone
- Multifx processor

Would I be able to do full tracks with a MPC 500 or should I need some external recording device?

Thanks for the help, I want to be sure I buy the right thing.

I'm also considering a MPC-1000 with JJos instead, but the budget would raise...

Yes.

Only as a single shot/loop.

None, you can only do send effects.

Reverb, Delay, Flanger, Chorous, Phaser, AutoPan, Compressor, EQ, Tremolo and some kind of Distortion/Bitdepth.

Nope.

Cool setup, but if you get a MPC-1000 with JJOS you can do audio tracks and se the sample you edit on screen.

I have done full tracks on this machine, so yeah.
