bass lines on mpc

µjust a quick question, when you record a bass line on your mpc, do you choose the note on pad or the polyphony mono??

I heard about the mute group too but which one for you sounds the best? it'd be the same with other instruments too

Experiment with different combo's of settings to learn how to get the results u want.
To me it really depends on the bass sample and what kind of bassline I want.

I'd experiment with the stuff - however in the meantime

NOTE ON - means your sample will play as long as you hold the pad/key down.
MONO - means that your sample will cut off any other samples (in the same program)currently playing.

The 2 are not exclusive.

As a rule of thumb - when recording basslines I would have the samples set to mono - otherwise it just sounds muddy. And thinking about it - you'd probably want NOTE ON as well, unless each note was the same duration (like a 4 to the bar walking bassline or something)
