I've been having a lot of problems with my mpc audio going to right channel sporadically. Recently it's gotten worse so I took the whole thing apart. Basically the way this thing is designed is that the cables running from the record volume and audio volume are jammed up tight against the sensor pads. And the connections really seem crappy quality. My theory is that my audio connection is bad since the left channel drops out while i'm hitting pads. You may be having the same problem but with the record volume.
After taking this thing apart, I can't say I'm that impressed with the quality. Components, design and fit and finish seem really poor. It will basically keep me from purchasing another one if I can't fix mine.
Sometimes I still laugh out loud about the beat kangz and that time some English dude hacked the Akai marketing website and stole a bunch of pictures of the Ren before it was released.
