Problems with basic functions

1)
When designing a sequence on my MPC 500, it happens quite often that samples are suddenly blotted out. E.g. when I have a bassline on Pad A1 and it´s triggered to start at 1.01 to run for 8 bars, then sometimes - especially when the sequence plays several "long" samples - the bass disappears and the sample isn´t played at full length.

It happens from time to time, that I load a stored program and several samples (sampled by MPC as well as imported files) cannot by reconstructed and "unknown file format" is flashing on the display.
The same for sequences, which are suddenly incomplete when loaded from the CF.

Why´s that? Any ideas?

think of your 500 like a scooter. Fun to take for a quick spin to the, and helps you get the small items just like a car would. Now imagine using your scooter to pick up a 10 pound bag of charcoal, lighter fluid and a twelve-pack of lucky lager. Pushing your little scooter to handle a big job like this will mean that at some point, something is bound to go wrong.

1. Sounds like a polyphony problem. Are you running a lot of effects?
2. Hard to say but are you running the latest os?

Also, have you expanded the on-board memory?
