Hey, I'm the author of MPC Pad 187.
Just letting everyone know that I've put some open source Python code up at http://github.com/stephenn/pympc1000/ and http://www.mybunnyhug.org/software/. The module can load, edit, and export MPC 1000 v1.00 program files. MPC 1000 files seem to work just fine with the MPC 500.
It's easy to use and is a great starting base for making your own MPC applications.
