having trouble loading sounds from memory card.

hey, i just bought myself an mpc500 after using a 2000 for a while, i have now managed to put all the sounds i want on my sound card, to load the sound i click load, sample, select the sample i want, preview, assign to pad then when it assigns to pad it doesn't seem to play on the pad! i tried playing with params as i thought it may be a problem but i still cant get the sounds to sound! this is so frustrating, for those of you that know, please let me know where i'm going wrong, thanks

mpc2000 was so much easier, create program on pc, stick disk in mpc, load, done.
is there anything like this for mpc500?

MPC Maid is a PGM Maker for the 500.

Make sure your sample names are not too long and that they are 16bit wav.

cheers, i got it, it's alright if you use it once, but try n open a program in it in and it seems to mess up my pad configuration, still its better than no sound at all

Are you sure there is there a sound assigned to the pad?

I know that sounds kind of stupid, but sometimes when I load sounds from the card they do not assign to the pad selected they just load into the memory. That can either be fixed by exiting and then re-entering the load screen, or I find its easier to just keep loading and then assign them in the program menu afterwards.

Just another minor bug that apparently Akai cant be bothered to pay a programmer to fix.
