Load midi files

Hi guys!
I 'm exploring all the possibilities of using recycle with the mp, and it 's real cool to chop your samples and then spread out them with any mpc software.what I don't get is: how can I load a Midi file into my mpc ( sequences or programs) so it can play the whole sample at the right time?
Is there a "load" function just for midi files?

I bought my mpc500 explicitly for this, yet there is no mention of it in the manual. I was lead to believe it would be a drag&drop kinda thing.

Over the years I have written as or translated all my songs to linear/non-looping standard midi files. Tell me I don't have to record each track/instrument for each song separately from a midi sender to get them onto the mpc500. This would seriously diminish the handiness of the available 99 sequences at a time.

One trial midi file I put on the card would show up on the mpc for a quarter second then disappear as if it didn't like it. All of the literature I read before purchasing stated that the mpc500 supports standard midi files.

I am indeed extremely new to this particular hardware, but I have read the manual cover-to-cover and found nothing. Thank you for any answers.

I load midi files simply with >load sequence< command.
You will have ONE BIG MIDI FILE though, not separate tracks.

To sequence your samples you need to map each sample to a midi note, corresponding to the note of the MPC pad you need to trigger.
