Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Last night I was looking at tracking out of the MPC, and I came across a technique where you solo a track of a song and resample the whole track to one pad, then repeat with the other tracks and export each one as a wav file to bring into a DAW.

So I tried it out and realized that if I solo a track and then go into record mode, the track will no longer solo - all tracks play at once. However, if I MUTE every track except the one I’m currently tracking, which is the same as soloing that one track - that one track and only that one track will play, which is what I want.

I guess my question is - does anyone know why I can’t solo in record mode, but I CAN mute every single track but one and THAT will work? It seems kinda strange to me. Also, do the other MPCs have this issue as well?

another way is to set all the other tracks you wish to exclude from the recording by setting the volume parameter on 0 and leaving the volume on the track you wish to record audiable.
