sorry I was ranting and deleted it ...I was sayin ya know people need to spend hours **** with their mp to figure it out get absorbed in that little screen....instead of..."how do I make my beat sound like______"or I cant save my song because I cant read.....help"..I mean come on look at the other threads around here...... Its like trying to learn to drive by reading a book.

anyway nevermind....I am on week six of not smoking cigarettes and I am a little cranky
I need to stay off here for a while

OK. There are way too many posting about stuff like that. When you guys mention gear that I am not familiar with - I find and download the manuals, read reviews and search the net. Usually I end up with the answers to all of my questions and I avoid posting question that make me look lazy.

I agree there are way too many 'lazy-ass' threads in certain forums here, but we shouldn't respond by simply flaming the guilty person; this place is supposed to be welcoming toward newcomers and also UNDERSTANDING of them.

Many of our members are younger than you may think and are just keen to get ahead. Many have been born into a 'I want to do it too and I want to do it now' generation where you find people want to reap the rewards of success without putting in the work beforehand.

Some of those responsible for lazy-ass threads probably didn't enjoy studying or graduate from school/ college. The concept of learning is actually alien to so many people you'd be surprised. Remember, that with study you can't expect to get out more than you've actually put in.

Another thing to consider is that many of our members do not speak English as their first language and may not be able to access the information held within the Akai manual. This presents a significant barrier not to be underestimated! Some English speakers struggle to understand the manual as it is, so consider that for a moment. It's not only written in a foreign language, but it also gets quite technical in places. A nightmare scenario, right?

So we try to take certain 'unknowns' into account when responding to threads which may appear to be asking rather obvious and/ or basic questions by providing advice that does not prejudice and is written in simple to understand language, much like a tutor should.

It can become irritating seeing 'lazy-ass' threads around the forums, but if you feel that you are unable to respond to them in a constructive or positive manner DON'T REPLY. Leave those threads for someone who is able to respond in the relevant manner.

Sometimes in life you do have to be cruel to be kind and pointing someone to the manual or flaming them is not always the solution that will help them, for some of the reasons mentioned earlier.

We all enjoy some comedic banter from time to time with these type of threads, but that must not become the norm.

There are plenty of posts to worry about... the 'lazy posts' aren't actually so bad... and we all have the ability to ignore them

At least when we help somebody out and bring them in to the fold, that will hopefully get another person to help out with the next round of 'how do I load my dope beatz' questions
