MPC 500 Seq Edit or Step Edit or IDK???? Newbie needs help..

Iight...
So i have had my MPC for about 6 months and i had been experimenting with it every now and then.
So i a sample that I'm using and i have laid it down on a track and have it in a sequence.
But it is a "beat' too long (I think thats the best way to explain it)
I was wondering if anyone knows how to use the "Seq Edit" or "Step Edit" Modes on the MPC 500.
I have read the manual but honestly i don't get it.
I'm a newbie to the forum but i have looked everywhere for an answer to my question before i asked.
(or at least simplify it for me)

have you used trim mode to make the sample shorter?

Yea.
But its the sequence i want to make shorter.
Just a little.
Do you know how to edit the duration of the sequence? (I guess)
Or take a "beat" out of the sequence?

this is the most basic of the basic. just read under sequences in the manual. if you cant get this, you might as well sell the thing...real talk

when ur on seq,press params> scroll along until u reach seq length, change it>do it

Ok...
I want the sequence to be on a constant loop but the sequence is off because of the sample I'm using.
I thought it might be the timing but i was wondering if i could stretch or edit the duration of the sequence by a couple seconds.
I see it in the Seq Edit Mode but i honestly dont know how to do it.

Change your tempo?

I could be wrong, but I think most of the confusion on the forum is because you're not using your terms 100% correctly to express what it is you want to do. You're not quite being thorough enough with the problem either.

From your last post though, if the sample/loop you are playing is playing longer than the rest of your sequence, then your sequence needs to play slower to match the tempo of the sample/loop.
