Can't Format CF Card

When i try to format my CF card it just says SYSTEM ERROR! Is something wrong with my mpc or did i not do something?

What CF card do you use? Did you make sure it's inserted all the way?
Did you try formatting it on your computer first, see if you get any error with it there, too.
Maybe try another card as well.
I doubt it's the mpc's fault, i'd blame the card.

I am trying to format the 128mb card that comes with the mpc. I also tried a 64mb SanDisk card that i had. I can't format it on my computer cause i dont have a CF card reader. And it was in all the way.

So i just put my CF card in my friends computer and it works fine but i still can't save any of my beats to my mpc cause the mpc won't read the card.

Just curious, did you buy this second hand or brand new?

I bought it brand new at GC last thursday.

damn, that sucks.
get a flashlight and check your mpc's CF slot, see if any pins are bent.
also, are you on the latest OS?
hope you can get it fixed, mate.

Thanks man. I'll take a look and I can't upgrade the latest OS cause I can't format my CF card. It's such a pain cause I've just been making good beats and can't save them.

get a cf card reader
or ask a friend and copy the update to your cf from there.
having the latest firmware is a must on that machine.

So I took it back to GC and just one of the pins in the CF Card Reader was bent. So they exchanged it and now my CF card is formatted.
