having problems with transfering beats to computer

iv just completed my first song on my mpc500, iv converted it into a sequence and saved it. but when i transfer it onto my computer the song is aranged exactly the same but is made up of random percussion samples. iv read the manual and changed the track settings and assigned it to the right program etc. am i missing something ??

Because all you did was saved the sequence. You have to save the programs and the samples that are in the sequence too. Save Entire memory then save it on a compactflash, then drag and drop on your computer.

you've got the jjsequencer who works like the mpc
you load all your sequence and samples you made with your mpc
there is a free version but it doesn't recognize the filter settings and other
