Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I got my used MPC500 a few weeks ago, and I'm pretty happy so far. The only thing that really annoys me is that some buttons don't react well, especially the CURSOR and DO IT. When I press them, they click, but they don't work. I have to really push them hard to make them work.

Does anyone else have this? Seems that most people complain about the pad insensitivity, but not the buttons? It would be great to be able to replace the sensors below the buttons. :?

Seems when I open mine up, each time a new button goes sketch.. I just go ape chit and press it like 500 times in a row until it works good again. Not a good solution I know. Right now my mode button has to be pushed kind of hard. I doubt the sensor is bad, cuz the buttons always work great before I open it.. maybe something is not aligned right?!?

I used to baby my 500, but now i throw it around and treat it like an old magazine. It really can take one hell of a beating .

This MPC is the Hercules of the bunch. Looking at the other forums, rarely I see problems with this guy. Not saying they don't exist, but the problems that do occur are usually user-related, unlike the out-the-box issues I've been seeing.
