I made a topic here exactly what you were asking. I have Presonus Studio 1 but haven't upgraded it to Pro... Presonus sucks real bad, upgrading for better stuff.... I'd suggest you go straight to FL or ProTools or somethin...
On my part I'm gonna either upgrade to ProTools or other top audio interfaces or stick to Presonus an upgrade it.... though again to answer your question..... Presonus only takes Akai MPD's if you look at the list for MIDI.
It'll be cool if someone knows what to do w/ Presonus...

MPC500 is what I'm dealing w/..... tweak on one before I move ahead.
