How do I Record a Sample In Mono R?

I see that recording in MONO L saves memory and that's great, but I like how it enables me to record samples from songs easier. Like I want to sample the voice, not the strings so I record in MONO L because the voice is in the left channel. Now I want some sound that's all in the right channel, but when I switch the dial there's no MONO R just STEREO and MONO L (is there even a MONO R? If so why not?!). So how do I record samples in MONO R? And if that's not possible does anyone know how I can record the right channel in MONO L? (haha maybe i can leave the jack half way in?) or does anyone want to recommend any software that they use to chop up masters and seperate tracks better? (like that awesome "aw heey" track on kanye's "power", but the stupid mono handclaps get in the way. How do i get rid of those or make them less audible?)

inverse your cable or you use the software audacity!!

@OriginalProducer sounds like you have a great solution!, but I don't understand :/. Can you please explain it (i'm a newbie).
I have an aux cable that i plug into the cd player then into an adapter, into the L INPUT.

that+2 adaptators and you put the right cable in mono L and left cable in mono R and sample mono L!!

Yeah it's simple mate, change the left and right cable connections on the other side of the record (mixer/phono-jack) swapping left to right or right to left will send both sides of your media through your mono channel

yeah I agree, but I think he is using a 1/8" to 1/4" stereo adapter rather then 1/8" to two 1/4" mono...
