Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500
By Fin123 Mon Dec 26, 2011 11:24 pm
I've been trying to move samples from my laptop to my MPC 500, at first I tries to connect it up by USB, and although the computer recognises it as hardware, it does not show up in 'my computer' meaning I can't put samples on it. After this I put the CF card directly into my computer, but I wasn't sure where to save these samples, or how to access them once I've plugged them back into the MPC. I'm very new to this so not entirely sure what I'm doing. Thank you very much.

Connect it to your computer with the cable
Press Mode on MPC
Press Pad 2 on MPC
Scroll data wheel until it says USB

This should "Mount" the MPC and your computer should recognise it. You can then drag and drop samples or folders containing samples as long as they are all the correct format.

Oddly enough this is covered in the manual that came with your MPC, or is available for free download.

It might be quicker in future to check there.

Yeah, I've done that, and it says that on my MPC that it is connected to the computer via USB, but the MPC isn't visible on my computer.

Do you need to format your CF card?

mine connects after a while... did you wait enough?
one hour or two will work ^^
was joking sorry... mine takes some minutes, it depends by how many data you stored in there i think. if nothing works format that after you save all your work somewhere else
