Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey you guys,

I have MPC500 for like three months now and it's really great, I just have this one problem (and I'm not sure if it's lack of memory, my own mistake or hardware issue, but since I'm a begginer, I guess the mistake is somewhere on my side).

I recorded a few samples from my laptop line out in stereo, I'm talking about two, three second samples here (one is six seconds long). I recorded it, everything works great (of course I'm using headphone output jack for my practising). I've done some editing with programs, sequences and stuff and that all is ok, I start playin some of these seqs or just hit the pads, and suddenly, i only hear one channel (left usually) and its all group muted (any pad kills other pad's sound). This ends only when i turn the device off and on again, then it works (when I load it from card) like five minutes, and then it does it again.

Is it lack of memory? I've got only the basic 16MB RAM version, and my memory card is like 90% full, but it should not matter, since the current sounds are loaded in the system memory. It really sucks, don't you guys know what to do with it?

Thanks so much,
Adam

sorry to dissapoint, sadly no. I'm working with it more right now and I noticed it can be fixed without turning the device off sometimes, but I haven't figured how (it seems it fixes itself, however for a short duration).

It's starting really to piss me off. Status of my working memory is 37% Wav and 98% Sequences, it's not possible to be the memory, is it?

ok, I changed all the samples I'm using from poly to mono (I'm not exactly sure what that does to be honest), but it seems its working now, so thank you guys/dudes :D for now, if it starts to get cranky again I'll post some more info to troubleshoot, but so far so good

thanks
