MPC 500 blank screen/Won't start up.

My MPC 500 had the tendency to lack in the menues from the moment i started using it. I figured it maybe was tbecause i hadn't installed the 128 expansion ram. So I put the ram in the machine. Then The MPC began to freeze way more than before - It even began to restart itself suddenly. I figured i'd might put the ram in a wrong way, so i took it out. I turned it on and the screen is blank - not even MPC500 startup screen. I thought to myself i would check it with the ram again, but still it would be blank. It's brand new! It's the AKAI ram.
PLEASE HELP ME!

The ram does not change the perfomance of the MPC. It only improves sample time. So unfortunately, you have to send your MPC back. You cannot do more than trying to start the MPC with or without the ram. If the ram itself is broken, your MPC would not even start. To wipe out the OS is according to your explanation also impossible. So I suppose your device is a bad one. Or *** up, to put in other words. If its new, you will get a new one without any doubts.
