MPC 500 external pads

Hey guys... im thinking about purchasing MPC 500 for live performance (im playing oneshots in realtime without sequencing)... so, i have M-audio trigger finger 16 pad controler, and im wondering, if its posible to have 16 external+12 inbuilt pads together with each one sample assigned to its special pad. I would like to play 12 samps with my right hand on mpc 500 and another 16 pads with my left hand on trigger finger connected via midi. is that possible with mpc 500?? and if not, does any other model of mpc support pad extension like that?? thanks for responses

exactly i would like to have 16 samples at all divided into 16 pads of trigger finger in for example 3 or 4 choke groups, and on 12 mpc pads ill have just drumshots choking only hi-hats... im working on akai S3000XL and i dont have any experiences with MPCs...

it's not possible to hook some external pads to MPC500 and I'm pretty shure it's not possible with any other MPC

really? it doesnt work like:
28 samples=28midi notes
MPC500 pads sends notes 1-12 assigned with samples 1-12
triggerfinger pads connected via midi sends notes 13-28 assigned with samples 13-28
??

....finally i found an answer in old posts, 3 hours spent searching the web .... and yes, it works.... finally last reason to get MPC500 for stage

Didn't realize you could actually trigger more than 12 samples at any given time using the 500. Are you somehow triggering samples on Bank B with the trigger finger, while triggering samples on Bank A using the 500? Is this even possible?

I used to use a Korg PadKontrol on my 1000 before I put Fat Pads in it. Worked great but like a keyboard I think you can't use note repeat to affect the external triggering.

I would think that a 16 pad controller with a 500 would have the top 4 pads corresponding to the first four pads in Bank B as was already guessed here.

Of course it's possible. I'm surprised it's even a question. The only difference between banks is the note number assignments. As long as you send it the right notes it triggers from any bank you want.

It's all midi, works out of the box. Mind tho that with MPC500 you can only control the active track, so you can't have your controller trigger sounds from TRACK-2 and MPC from TRACK-1.

yes that is possible... all you need to do is run the midi out from the controller... into the midi in of the mpc.. then on the controller there will be a way to change the midi CC note number of each pad (check the manual for the controller) ... after you load up every sound you plan to use.. you switch the controller's note numbers until it is triggering the correct sound.

It will take you 10 minutes to set up.
