Hey guys, new here!

Anyways I just ordered my first mpc for relatively cheap. super clean and everything but dosent have the RAM in the back.

I have about 10 of these lying around the house and i was wondering if this would fit the mpc500

its a:

HYNIX 256MB 1Rx16 PC2-5300S-555-12
HYMP532S64CP6-Y5 AB 0651

Thanks!

The general spec for the 500/1000/2500 is PC 133 144PIN CL3 SODIMM 256MB.

When I've had RAM at that spec that didn't work, in every case the Clock Latency number was not written on the RAM. "CL3" is the listing in this case.

CL ratings on RAM sticks are often ignored when the RAM is used in PC's as the PC will run regardless of the CL rating, even if sticks are mismatched. (probably less efficiently as the CPU would choose the lower of the two CL 3's.)

So yeah if any RAM you have meets that pin configuration and is CL# it should be fine. If you find one that works that isn't labelled it's safe to assume it's CL3.
