Hey guys, had my 500 for half a year now, no problems at all. I;ve been swamped with school and haven't touched my machine in a few weeks. I went to turn it on, and the blue backlight comes up, but nothing appears on the screen, no letters or words or anything...what should I do?

remove the ram expansion if you have it, and turn it on again...

check your cf card reader... make sure no pins are bent and touching each other.

tried both ^^^ and batteries and plugged in, I'm under warranty Akai responded, was going to send the unit in, but this morning it started working. Problem is, a lot of my projects load up, but the samples aren't loaded onto the pads properly, and therefore none of the saved sequences work. One or two projects are fine, but the majority are ruined. Any clue what happened?!

hey guys, I figured out that I was saving the projects in the same folder. I thought I had been creating and saving them in new folders, however I was creating the new folder, but saving it an old folder. Problem solved :)

You still might want to get the screen checked out under warranty. I got an MPD26 (different hardware but still) and had an issue where the text disappeared. I could turn it back on and it would work. It only happened a couple times and then worked for months, but one day it went out for good. Same deal, where the light is on but no text. I was out of warranty by the time it went out for good. I regret not getting it looked at the first time.
