Hey I just got a mpc 500 for cheap. Everything is working on it but there is one problem. there's no sound coming from the right channel. When i plugged my speakers into the headphone jack I only hear sound from the left channel. I tried plugging them into the right channel output but no sound is coming out. I even hard panned a couple pads to the right but still no sound. Is there something up with the mpc itself because neither the right channel by itself or through the headphone jack is working. Help or info would be appreciated

thanks

I have this exact problem. Im new to this website and to the mpc 500. I have looked through the manual and tried a few things regarding the poly to mono option. But nothing has helped yet. Can you guys give me all the possible input that you can so I can solve this issue. I got the mpc for cheap and this was the only know isssue whan it was sold to me. I was hoping it was an easy fix.

Please help, thanks.

Cheap buys is what cheap is. Yeah, seems like you bought a lemon. If you good at soldering then you can fix it yourself for the output channels share the same circuit as the headphone out. Its easy to solder, just don't overdo it. It was once mentioned here to practice on trashed electronic toys to get the hang of it and it does help. Better than paying a couple of figures to a repairman. If not, then take it to a repairman.

Poly makes a sample overlap everytime you hit the pad and mono just makes the sample not overlap on itself. So lets say you have a 3 second violin sample on a pad, with Poly, that sample will play all the way through and everytime you hit the pad, the sample will overlap the previous hit sounding like an echo. With Mono, the sound will cut the previous hit and sound like a stutter everytime you hit it.

Thanks for the response Ill Green. One more question. What do I soder to fix this and are there any images of previous people who might have done this already? Will this fix it?
