problem with mpc 500 and sample

Hi
first scuse me for my vocabulary because i speak french and I'm not good in english...

I have a problem with my mpc 500,
when I record on the 1st tracks my sample and that I want to play drums on the 2nd tracks, my drums cut my sample and i can't hear my first sample?
...
i have try to put it in mono or poly but there is no change...

look at the mute group setting under Program and make sure they're not in the same group.

my mute group are off!

Could be a polyphony issue. There's technically 32 voice polyphony in the MPC500, but it gets used up quicker than you may think (for example, stereo samples will halve the polyphony to 16). How many samples are you triggering on track 1, how often are you triggering them, and how long are the samples? For example, a 2-second sample triggered twice per second will use up 4 voices of polyphony (8 if it's a stereo sample).
