Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Now, I made a whole song, saved it, (several sequences, probably like 2 and a half minutes or something) and now I want to export it so I can give my friend who helped me make it a copy. I hear I have to convert the song to a sequence, then go to record mode and make it a WAV file sample. When I go to the sequence and hit play the whole song plays, but when I go to record mode and... try to record it by doing the same thing, it eventually just cuts off between 12 and 13 seconds. I don't know why it does this, if it's my fault, if I'm forgetting, whatever. I just need to get this figured out before I Kamehameha this Mpc. I don't see anything about this in the manual either... help, faithful warriors of the internet!

Is there enough free memory?

In Record Mode, scroll on the Mode: field until it displays the amount of Free recording time that is available to record into.

Read up on the Track Move feature.

Your problem is that even though your sequences contain the same samples, the samples are not on the same tracks in other sequences.

For example, these are your sequences:

SEQ 1- TRK 1=snare, TRK 2=kick TRK 3=piano

SEQ 2- TRK 1=piano, TRK 2=snare, TRK 3=kick

SEQ 3- TRK 1=kick, TRK 2=piano, TRK 3=snare

This is why the Seq to Song will not work. Because every Track has something different for every sequence. So get to know Track Move and have them look like this:

SEQ 1- TRK 1=snare, TRK 2=kick, TRK 3=piano

SEQ 2- TRK 1=snare, TRK 2=kick, TRK 3=piano

SEQ 3- TRK 1=snare, TRK 2=kick, TRK 3=piano

Get the connection :D
