mpc midi miniak questions

Hello,

Would like to know if anyone has a solution here.

Miniak w/ MPC 500 as sequencer recorder through midi in and out.

I can record. I can only replay when the Miniak is still on. I would like to make multiple sequences and tracks and make as song out of different sounds of the Miniak.

It seems I change a program on the miniak and all the prerecorded sequences change to that program sound.

I tried changing the midi channel for each track and recording then saving each file but I am either doing it wrong or that is not the way to do this..

Are you recording into a DAW or you just MIDI'd up the Mini and 500 and recording into the 500?

The samples within a Program are are just midi triggered sounds and don't really record like you would using audio tracks. Its just a set of codes and data so when you switch programs, the sounds gonna change. But you can layer programs while recording and overdub and it shouldn't change the sounds already recorded on a sequence unless you didn't saved and named them. You can layer 48 programs if you want.

How is this setted up? Who is the master and who is the slave here?

Do you have better suggestions.

I want to use sounds and rythyms and break them up like the MPC has the abililty to do with song mode and the parts you can just plug and play
