Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I know on the other MPC models you can hit one pad and it will trigger a different pad,the 500 doesn't have this feature...this is a dope feature especially for drums because you can filter or tune each pad.On the 500 you can layer 4 sounds on each pad but if you mess with the filter it filters all those sounds on that pad..
I found a trick to get the pad simulat, record your drums on track 1,copy that track then copy your program, take your copied program that is now on track 2 and now you can add new drum sounds and tweak those each individual hits with filter, tune etc....im sure most of you know this....

you could do this for live play too with a midi cable connected from OUT to IN,
soft thru turned OFF. sync set to internal.

just set up two tracks with the same midi channel.

and play them with a third track that has no pgm, but the same midi channel as the two tracks you set up before.

(I've not tried this but either i'm right or akai completely **** up the midi implementation on the mpc500)
